‘Light’ is a response to my immediate environment. Having moved from the
claustrophobic, concrete labyrinth of New York City to the rural settings of CT, I am
confronted by nature. The seasons rather than being divided by temperature, as they were
in my mind in the city, are now more to do with the light and the land. Not just how high or
low the sun is according to the time of year, the crispness of winter or haziness of summer,
but more about the colour reflections off the landscape. From the hues of the light reflected
off the fall leaves, to the lush green grass of summer to the bare starkness of the winter
auburns.
‘Light’ is a considered approach to the landscape.
The project was shot across all 4 seasons, inside the barn on my land, using the light that
filters through the gaps in the barns siding’s.
